Packaging Worth Admiring

While I recover from jetlag, rather than bombard you with pictures from my vacation (though you may get some of those too later!), I thought a good way to start the week off was with some examples of beautiful packaging.

These have been pulled from the SmallFoodBiz Pinterest Board titled ‘Packaging Worth Admiring’ and is just a sample of some of the images that are on there.  I have, whenever possible, tried to link the photos back to the correct businesses or graphic design firms for each of these examples:

honey packaging

What a unique way to package honey! Picture came from a website that is no longer available. If anyone knows who makes this product let me know as it’s gorgeous and they should get credit for it

scrappys bitters

I’m not a big drinker and yet every time I see these bottles I want to buy them just because the packaging is so eye catching. scrappysbitters.com

This is a far cry from that bottle shaped like a woman your mom used to set on the dining room table for pancakes and waffles. This packaging makes me think the kids could keep their syrup cuase I'd be hiding this on in the cabinet just for me! mikuniwildharvest.com

honey packaging

This simple packaging just makes you smile doesn’t it. That bear does look like he’s up to no good! This came from buzzfeed.com but couldn’t find the company’s direct website.

Lilli Pilli Jam packaging

This gorgeous jam packaging from Lilli Pilli Patisserie looks almost too pretty to open….almost! http://www.etsy.com/shop/LilliPilliPatisserie

honey packaging

More honey! How beautiful is this honey? This would make a great gift. Also, with all three of these honey examples today you can see how packaging can really set the tone between similar products. This is from Klein Constantia Farm.

unique spice packaging

Take a look at this spice packaging…would you believe it was a grocery story private label brand? You can read all about the story behind it here http://lovelypackage.com/sheffield-sons/

The adage that people eat with their eyes applies to the packaging also! I think the packaging in the 3rd photo of the Noble syrup would also make a great flask for other liquid substances. :-) But I think my favorite may be the Honey Hunter. It’s whimsical & mischievous, but very importantly, full of “personality”, which for me is a hallmark of great packaging! Thanks for sharing.

This is great post. People don’t always realize that the saying “People eat with their eyes!” also applies to the packaging. I like that the Noble maple syrup packaging could also double as a fashionable flask for other “liquid substances”. :-) But I think my vote for Favorite is the Honey Hunter packaging. It’s whimsical & mischievous. And as is the case with packaging that I think has the greatest impact, it has “personality”!

I can’t agree with you more with the things you said about the importance of packaging to your products. Most companies neglect or are not fully into improving the packaging of their products because they think it will get into the garbage in no time. They don’t realize the impact it brings to the actual product.

Thanks for this post. I’ll surely share this to my friends in the same industry as ours and educate them through this post.

    Appreciate it!
