It’s Food Awards Season (and Open Call For Artisan Foods)

food awardsWhile everyone else was preparing for the long Independence Day holiday, specialty food manufacturers from around the world converged on New York City for the Summer Fancy Food Show.  What sets this Fancy Food Show apart from the one I attended earlier in the year, is that the coveted sofi(tm) awards were given out.

This year, according to a press release from the Specialty Food Association, there were a record number of entrants in the categories.  With everything from cheese and confections to food gifts covered, it’s worthwhile to take a look and see who is the crème de la crème of specialty food.

Chances are your products are just as delicious, eye-catching, and stand-out as the sofi award winners but you don’t (yet) have the money necessary to join the Specialty Food Association and aren’t big enough to compete with some of those bigger names who won a sofi award.  Fear not, the Good Food Awards is a competition of artisan-crafted products and it has a much lower $60/per product price tag to enter.  If you’re interested, the Good Food Awards competition is now accepting entries through July 31.
