E-Commerce Sites That Are Your Site

e-commerceIf you don’t have a separate website for your company yet, you may want to consider an e-commerce site that doubles as both a shopping cart and a website for your company.

Shopify* and Goodsie* are two of the largest e-commerce platforms that double as your company’s webpage as well as integrate a shopping cart so that you can sell your goods directly from your site.  Both these sites utilize templates which enable you to create a more customized look for your site without needing to know how to code HTML.  Because the shopping cart is part of your site, it’s also easy for store owners to go in and make changes and update both the site and the products available for sale at any given time.

Both sites have some pros and cons so if this sounds like something that would be of interest to you it’s worthwhile to spend a little time investigating both platforms before moving forward with the one that would best work for you.

Our food business is stickly online so we dud a lot of comparison shopping before building our site (www.traversegourmet.com). We settled on Big Commerce and have been very pleased with its functionality. If you’re considering a shopping cart platform and have questions about Big Commerce, contact me and I’m happy share its pros and cons.
