Knocking Your Head Against The Wall

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying before: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.” Why then are we so hesitant to change how we’re approaching our business when it doesn’t seem to be working the way we want it to.

We can plan and strategize with the best of them, but sometimes what we planned just isn’t panning out the way we’d home. It’s times like these that being a small business owner can either make or break you. The downside is that as a small business owner you – typically – have a smaller budget which means you have a smaller runway until things not going as you hoped eats into all of your cash reserves. You can’t just wait this out and hope things will improve.

The benefit of being a small business owner is that you can be nimble. You don’t need to go through 8 layers of red tape plus a legal team review before changing course. So if something isn’t working, don’t wait until it’s too late to make a change.

And yes, it’s undoubtedly frustrating that all that time spent planning and strategizing has gone to waste – but better that than all the time, money, blood, sweat, and tears you’ve poured into your business until now.
